Today, as my son turns 11, I'm reminiscing about his unique birth. We opted for the Bradley method, an all-natural approach. My first labor was 18 hours, so I expected a similar timeline for my second. However, with my mother here from Ohio, he surprised us with a quick entrance to the world, being born in the caul - a rare 1 in 100,000 occurrence. I learned sailors once saw these sacs as good luck charms, ironically our nursery was nautical-themed. ๐ฆ
His cord snapped during birth, which spared me from hemorrhaging. My motherโs quick response ensured his safety. I truly believe the caul saved his life, and the cord break might've saved mine. Throughout, I felt God and calmness all around me. I had peace, no regrets, no resentment. It is like nothing I can ever explain ๐๐ฝI am ever-grateful to the first responders who assisted afterwards. ๐
Seeing my son's innate kindness, intelligence, and depth today fills me with pride. My pregnancy weight peaked at 180 lbs, but healthy habits and motherhood demands ( thankful for genetics ๐)helped me bounce back.
This experience deepened the bond between my mother and I. With my husband @adamarchuleta31 just starting his broadcasting career in Eugene, Oregon, for work, (not the easiest place to get in and out of) I assured him to finish his commitments before meeting our newborn baby boy.
Celebrating today, the memory of his remarkable birth remains vivid. #borninthecaul #naturalchildbirth #bradleymethod #happybirthday #godwink
