What a special weekend celebrating my book! My kindergarten teacher, dance teacher, old schoolmates, people I worked with, and readers from Cleveland, Columbus, and all over Ohio came to support me. Some even brought thoughtful gifts and small tokens representing the role they played in my life. Barnes & Noble sold out of my books, asked me to come back, and will carry my book in the store!
A special thank-you to Barnes & Noble in Boardman for hosting me, Mike and the team at Alpha Security, and Minuteman Press in Boardman for making my beautiful poster. Thank you to my family who stayed and hung out with me, my dad for helping me set everything up, my uncles for Ubering me around, and my DoorDash brother-in-law! 🤣
I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who came, the support from the media, and all the love Youngstown showed me and my book.
It had been 18 years since I traveled without my kids, so of course I brought my dog Mazzy along to give me something to worry about! 😂 I may live across the country now, but I’ve never missed a summer in Youngstown. It will always be home.
I can’t wait to bring this story to the big screen and film parts of the movie in the place I still call home. I’m heading west now with a very full and grateful heart.
