From Chapter 2: “Hard Work, Heavy Bags, and Open Doors”
I was 12 years old, working at a restaurant, when I slipped in the snow taking out a heavy trash bag and landed flat on my back. I remember lying there for a second, snow falling on my face, thinking, there has to be more than this.
After that came more jobs, including going door to door selling vacuums, learning how to hear no, keep smiling, and keep moving.
I’ve always worked hard. I’ve always been a little fearless.
I think somewhere along the way, life taught me that falling isn’t the end of the story. You get back up and keep climbing.
