I used to believe beauty could be found in a tube of lipstick, a different body, or one more thing fixed in the mirror.

But perfection never healed the parts of me that were hurting.

I became the girl stitched back together on the outside while quietly unraveling on the inside. I looked the part, but I was still searching for something no surgery, makeup, or approval could ever give me: the belief that I was already enough.
